WBJEE Last date Date: 29 February 2016. WBJEE is a state level examination which is conducted by West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) for admission to different undergraduate courses in engineering, medical, architecture and pharmacy field at numerous private and government institutions across West Bengal. Online registration for WBJEE 2016 will be started from 5 January, 2016 and the examination will be held on May 17, 2016. Eligibility Criteria for WBJEE 2016

Are you really interested to appear in WBJEE 2016? Please go through the eligibility criteria for WBJEE 2016 specified below:
  • Interested candidates must be a citizen of India.
  • Candidates must be 17 years old as on or before 31st Dec 2016. For Marine engineering, must not be more than 25 years as on 31st July 2016.
  • Candidates must have citizenship of West Bengal. Domicile is not required in case you want to get admission into private or self-aided university).
  • Interested candidates those are interested in getting admission at Jadhavpur University, must have passed 10+2 examination from state board or CBSE board and secured minimum 60% of marks (for reserved category candidates the minimum scored mark is 55%).
  • Apart from Jadavpur university, if candidates want to get admission at any other institution, they must have secured minimum 45% marks (the mark is 40% for reserved category candidates).
  • Candidates should not have any medical illness.

WBJEE 2016 Application Form/How to apply

Candidates can apply online from the official website of WBJEE i.e. http://wbjeeb.nic.in/. Click the link application form and fill all the required details. Thereafter, candidates are required to pay the application fee through credit card/debit card or through e-Challan. Every candidate will get an unique 7-digit application number. It is advised to keep this application number safe by candidates for future reference. After a successful registration, candidates are also required to send the confirmation page and top sheet including necessary documents to the address specified below:

WBJEE 2016 Exam Pattern Complete Information 

  • All questions asked in the exam will be MCQ type along with four options.
  • Candidates need to answer questions in OMR Answer Sheet by using  blue/black ball point pen only.

Marking Scheme for Question Category 1
  • Candidates need to make one correct answer.
  • One mark will be provided to every correct answer.
  • For every negative response, ¼ marks gets deducted.
Marking Scheme for Question Category 2
  • Candidates are required to mark only one right answer.
  • 2 marks will be provided for every correct response, whereas ½ marks gets deducted for negative response.
Marking Scheme for Question Category 3
  • Questions belonging to this category may have one or more than one answer is correct.
  • Candidates will be given 2 marks if they have marked all correct answers of a question.
  • In case your answer is partially correct then marks awarded = 2 X (no of correct options marked) / (total no of actually correct options).

Important Details of Residential and Domicile Certificate

This section will be helpful in case you are looking crucial information related to Residential and Domicile certificate. Details related to domicile requirement for courses such as Engineering/Technology, medical, dental, pharmacy and architecture are described as follows:
Domicile required
Candidates who are looking for admission to Medical/Dental Colleges, Government Engineering/Technology/ Pharmacy Colleges or reserve category seats including TFW category, domicile is a must document for them.  Following types of candidates will be assumed as domicile of West Bengal:
  • Candidates who are residing in West Bengal from minimum last 10 years as on 31.12.2015 will be assumed as domicile of this state. Such category of candidates needs to follow domicile certificate proforma A-I or A-II.
  • Candidates whose parents are permanent resident of West Bengal state having proper address they need to follow domicile certificate proforma B.
Competent Authority Who Can Issue Domicile Certificate
For Performa A-I or B
Performa A-1 or B should be signed and certified by following competent authorities belong to Central or State Government:

Domicile certificate performa A-II should be signed by the Head of the Institution from where candidates have cleared or going to appear in 10+2 exam.

Important Details Regarding Income Certificate

Candidates are required to obtain two copies of income certificate duly signed and certified by the competent authority. Now upload the scanned image of income certificate during application process and keep original copy of the same for verification purpose during counseling process.

For candidates belonging to urban area:
  • Assistant Commissioner or above in Municipal Corporation
  • Group “A” Gazetted Officer of State or Central Govt. of same rank or its above
For candidates belonging to rural area:
  • Sub-Divisional Officer
  • An officer of the State Govt. in the rank of Block Development Officer
  • District Magistrate
  • Additional District Magistrate
  • Group “A” Gazetted Officer of State or Central Govt. of same rank or its above

WBJEE 2016 Admit Card

  1. West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) released the exam pattern of WBJEE 2020. The details regarding the mode, duration, papers, number of questions based on categories, marking scheme and more were available in the WBJEE 2020 exam pattern. The exam consisted of three sections - Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Information about the nature of the entrance examination is available through WBJEE 2021 exam pattern.
